Ray Henderson was born in 1947 and whisked down south "by the grace of god", where he grew up in Columbus, Ga. Being an Army brat, places like Bliss, Benning and Campbell attributed to the formative years.

A stint in the USAF was followed by an AB degree in Anthropology from Ga. State University in Atlanta. Graduate school at the University of Ga. was interrupted by the arrival of children and the special demands of parenting. The last 30 years were spent in Douglasville, Ga., where a renewed interest in ethnoarcheology led to several projects and the books they produced. Ray is the author of The History of the Pony Club and The 100 Day War.
